Will I need to pay VAT?

Question:

I am planning to sell a residential property through a limited company. However, I wonder if the sale price is over £85,000 (highly likely), does the company need to register for VAT?  

I have searched the government website, and the sale of a residential property could be exempted from VAT.

Selling a residential property is an exempt supply for VAT purposes, so you do not charge VAT. Thus, there is no necessity to register for VAT.
