We’re always looking for new authors to join our pool of writers. If you have the tax knowledge and want to share your tax saving strategies and expertise with our readers, we want to hear from you.
All our writers are freelance, some write for multiple publications each month, while others contribute every few months. Most of our writers also actively work in practice, so we give plenty of notice and clear timeframes to work towards, which are usually at least two weeks from topic selection to submitting your article. However, it is essential that you commit to and meet the deadlines we set.
It’s also a great opportunity to build your profile in the industry. Thousands of general taxpayers (and potential employers, clients, or publishers) will read your work.
We have four monthly newsletters: Tax Insider, Business Tax Insider, Property Tax Insider and Tax Insider Professional. The articles for our newsletters range from 600 – 1,200 words. As Tax Insider, Business Tax Insider and Property Tax Insider are read by general taxpayers, articles need to be clear, concise, and easy-to-read.
We also publish tax reports which are in-depth explainers of particular property or business tax issues.
We have a style and article guide to make sure you’re on the right lines, and our Editor will provide feedback and guidance on your work if needed.
If you consider yourself an expert or are particularly knowledgeable in an area of tax, we’re looking for you. You do not need to have previous writing experience, but an enjoyment for writing is needed.
Send us an email to support@taxinsider.co.uk with the subject line ‘Writing for Tax Insider’, along with your CV and an explanation of why you’d like to write for us and your particular areas of expertise. If you have previous writing experience, please also include this in your email.
We will then pass on your CV to our Editor to review. If the Editor would like to take you forward, we will ask you to do a paid trial article. After the trial, if successful we will confirm which publication we’d like you to write for, article fees, timescales, and will send you our Writer Agreement to sign.
